ODC’s artistic and administrative staff have always been committed to higher education and are available to participate in academic training for emerging professionals. ODC is a dynamic institution committed to connecting students and their studies to applied practice in their field.
ODC/Dance Company
As a part of general outreach efforts, ODC/Dance Artistic Directors Ms. Nelson, Ms. Way along with the ODC Dancers offer ongoing workshops, performances and lectures to a number of University and College partners including: San Francisco State University, Mills College, Academy of Art College, Oxbow School in Napa and scores of groups while on tour. General outreach efforts, similar in philosophy to the Four-Part Program, place great emphasis on creative interaction with ODC’s artistic staff. Larger groups are accommodated with technique or composition classes, lecture-demonstrations, distance learning programs, short concerts and community choreography projects.
ODC Theater
ODC Theater staff and artists are available to participate with university students and faculty on a curricular level in the fields of art management, production, aesthetics, introduction to new works and curation. Additionally, ODC Theater can provide a connection between students and their practical studies to both our artists in residence and touring artists. We can tailor make programming that is best suited for your curriculum, including, but not limited to, residency activities with touring artists, lectures and presentations.
ODC Theater has provided programming to the following partners:
